My Nikon D40X just died after a little over 27,000 shutter clicks. I am really sad because I didn't buy the extended warranty. Of course, the manufacturer's warranty ran out the month before.

My D40 still run perfectly after 34,839 shutter clicks.. Mostly i use D40 for casual snap or family shoot out.. i've shoot drift & rally with it.. but have to blow/brush the dust after the event..

My D40's shutter died out on me in the middle of a wedding after 51,700+ shots, good thing I upgraded to a D300..

Hoping it lasts me another year and then upgrading to a FX instead of renting one.

Nikon D60
Shutter #31380, Shutter still alive but after the mirror/ shutter jammed for the first time in it's life. After about 4 tries it unjammed and took photos for throughout today.

Nikon refuses repair on guarantee. Guess my next camera will be a Canon after all.

My NIKON D40X shutter died at approximately 60 000.
My NIKON D60 counts 95 740 today and still rocks and rolls :)
